Stripe-native payment recovery
FAQ

Common questions about RecoverKit.

What does RecoverKit do?

RecoverKit helps SaaS merchants using Stripe recover failed payments that need customer action. It detects failed invoices, sends recovery emails, provides secure recovery links, and routes customers to Stripe-hosted invoice or payment pages.

Does RecoverKit replace Stripe Billing or Smart Retries?

No. RecoverKit complements Stripe Billing and Smart Retries by handling the customer-action layer around failed payments.

Does RecoverKit collect card details?

No. Customers update or pay through Stripe-hosted pages. RecoverKit does not collect full card numbers, CVC codes, or bank credentials.

What can merchants do inside the Stripe App?

Merchants can review recovery health, inspect recent failed-payment cases, resend recovery email for eligible active cases, stop active recovery sequences, and check setup diagnostics.

Can recovery be disabled?

Yes. Recovery can be disabled in merchant settings. Merchants can also deauthorize or uninstall the Stripe App to remove account access.

Is RecoverKit generally available?

RecoverKit is currently in MVP and external testing. The product is being validated with selected merchant accounts before broader release.
